Dosage and Administration:

SWAVET Povidone is a versatile and trusted solution for the treatment of wounds, cuts, sores, burns, abrasions, foot rot, ringworm, infectious ophthalmia, and bacterial eye infections in various livestock animals. To ensure optimal results, follow the recommended dosage and administration guidelines:

Wounds, Cuts, Sores, and Abrasions:
  • Spray: Wash the affected area Thoroughly and spray the product from a distance of 15-20 cm, covering the entire area.
  • Dressing: Clean the affected area and apply the product liberally using a brush or cotton wool.
Footrot in Cattle, Sheep, Goats, and Pigs:
  • Wash the affected area and carefully remove any diseased tissue. Spray or pour the product onto the area and, if possible, cover it with a dressing. Treat once or twice daily for optimal results.
Infectious Opthalmia and Bacterial Eye Infections in Cattle, Sheep, Goats, and Horses:
  • Hold the container 15-20 cm away from the eye and spray the product directly into the affected eye. Repeat the treatment twice daily until signs of acute inflammation, such as lacrimation, redness, and pain, are controlled. The gradual disappearance of any white discolouration of the cornea is expected.
Ringworm in Cattle:
  • Break or scrub off crusts from the affected area. Apply the product twice daily for a minimum of 14 days to effectively combat ringworm.

Treatment

For treatment of wounds, cuts, sores, burns, abrasions and foot rot in horses, cattle, sheep, goats and pigs; ringworms in cattle; infectious ophthalmia and bacterial eye infections in cattle, sheep, goats and horses.

Dosage

Use only as directed.

Wounds, cuts, sores and abrasions:
– Spray: Wash affected area and spray entire area from a distance of 15-20 cm.
– Dressing: Wash affected area – pour on or apply liberally with a brush or cotton wool.
– Foot rot in cattle, sheep goats and pigs: Wash affected area and pare of diseased tissue. Spray or pour on. Where possible, cover with a dressing. Treat once or twice daily.

Infectious ophthalmia (Rickettsia) and bacterial eye infections in cattle, sheep, goats and horses can be treated by holding the container 15-20 cm away and spraying directly into the eye. Repeat treatment twice daily until signs of acute inflammation are controlled, i.e. until lacrimation, redness and pain have abated. Possible white discoloration of cornea will gradually disappear by itself.

Ringworm in cattle: Break or scrub off crusts. Apply twice daily for at least 14 days.

Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals. Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.
