Treatment:
Bar-Vac®10 is recommended for the immunisation of healthy cattle and sheep against Cl. perfringens Types C and D, Cl. Sordellii, Cl. Septicum, Cl. Novyi, and Cl. Chauvoei and Pneumonic Pasteurellosis caused by Mannheimia haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida. Cl. perfringens Types C and D give protection against type B.
Dosage:
Suspension for injection. Shake the bottle well before and during use. The vaccine should be applied subcutaneously in the neck.
Cattle: 2 ml, repeat in 21 days and once annually. Cattle may be vaccinated from 6 months of age and older. For feedlot calves, weaned calves vaccinated under 6 months of age should be revaccinated at 6 months of age. Farm calves still with dams vaccinated under 6 months of age should be revaccinated at 6 months of age or at weaning.
Sheep: 1 ml, repeat in 21 days and once annually. Pregnant ewes may be vaccinated 4 to 6 weeks before the lambing season. Lambs born to vaccinated ewes can be expected to have colostral protection for 4 to 6 weeks. Lambs that are being farmed further may require a full vaccination. Lambs that are vaccinated before 3 months of age should be revaccinated at 4 to 6 months or at weaning.
Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Vaccinate only healthy animals around 4 to 6 months of age onwards. Localised swelling at the injection site may occur.
Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals. Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.
Composition:
Each 2.0 ml dose contains:
Clostridium chauvoei At least 80 % protection
Clostridium septicum At least 1,5 IU of antitoxin/ml
Clostridium novyi At least 0,5 IU of alpha antitoxin/ml
Clostridium sordellii At least 1,0 IU of antitoxin/ml
Clostridium perfringens Type C At least 10,0 IU of beta antitoxin/ml
Clostridium perfringens Type D At least 2,0 IU of epsilon antitoxin/ml
Mannheimia haemolytica Type 1 At least 1,0 log10 protection
Pasteurella multocida Type A At least 2,0 log10 protection
Packaging:
Store between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Protect from light. Improper storage may cause potency losses.
50 ml and 100 ml packed into a white HDPE bottle with a rubber closure and aluminium seal.
25 doses/50 ml and 50 doses/100 ml.
